The award that recognises outstanding long-form video content.

The Storyteller Award recognises outstanding video content (documentary, series, short film) that delves deep into a subject, exploration, captivates and educates viewers with storytelling prowess. 

Entry criteria:

  • This category is open to all long format content creators.
  • You need to be South African / live in South Africa for most of the year to enter this category.

What to submit:
  • A link to the long-form piece can be housed on any social media platform (YouTube or TikTok etc). Our judges will click on the link to view the content.
  • Your long-form piece needs to be between 10 - 30 minutes in length, the judges are obligated to watch only the first five minutes. 
  • The long-form piece needs to be posted between April 2023 and April 2024.

What the Judges are looking for:
  • The uniqueness and innovative approach taken in presenting the content, as well as the creative elements that enhance the storytelling.
  • The ability of the content to capture and maintain the audience's attention, provoke thought, inspire discussion, and make a lasting impression.
  • It does not need to be the most widely listened to or engaged with, as all entrants have a different follower base, but it does need to be up there with the best of the best.
