1. The Award
1.1The Samsung Galaxy Creator of the Year Award (“Award”) forms part of the Content Creator Awards 2026, sponsored by Samsung Galaxy.
1.2The Award recognises a creator who has demonstrated outstanding overall performance and contribution to the creator economy during the relevant judging period.
1.3The Award celebrates excellence, consistency, creativity, audience connection and meaningful impact across a creator’s body of work.
1.4The Award is administered by One-eyed Jack (Pty) Ltd (“the Organiser”) in partnership with Samsung Electronics South Africa (Pty) Ltd (“Samsung”).
2. Eligibility
2.1The Award is open to content creators who meet the eligibility requirements for the Content Creator Awards 2026.
2.2Unless otherwise specified in the official Content Creator Awards category requirements, entrants and nominees must be 18 years or older and ordinarily resident in South Africa.
2.3Employees, directors, officers, agents, representatives and immediate family members of the Organiser, Samsung, their associated companies, advertising and promotional agencies and any other party directly involved in the administration of the Content Creator Awards are not eligible to win the Award.
2.4The Organiser reserves the right to verify the eligibility of any entrant, nominee or finalist and may request reasonable proof of identity, age, residence or other information required to validate eligibility.
3. Entries and Judge Nominations
3.1The Award was open for creators to enter through the Content Creator Awards 2026 entry process.
3.2In addition to creator entries, members of the official Content Creator Awards judging panel may nominate creators whom they believe demonstrate the qualities and achievements required to be considered for the Award.
3.3A creator does not need to have submitted a self-entry in order to be considered for a judge nomination, provided that they meet the relevant eligibility requirements.
3.4A judge nomination does not guarantee that a creator will be shortlisted as a finalist or receive the Award.
3.5The Organiser reserves the right to contact a nominated creator to obtain any additional information, supporting material or consent required to assess their eligibility and entry.
4. Judging Criteria
4.1The Award will initially be assessed by a judging panel appointed by the Organiser.
4.2Judges will consider the creator’s overall body of work and achievements during the relevant judging period.
4.3Factors that may be considered include, but are not limited to:
4.4Judges may consider information supplied by the creator as well as publicly available information relating to the creator and their work.
4.5Judges may take into consideration a creator’s performance across multiple social media platforms and content formats.
4.6No single metric, including follower count, views, likes or engagement rate, will necessarily determine the winner.
4.7The judges’ decision regarding the shortlist of finalists will be final, subject to applicable law.
5. Finalists and Public Voting
5.1Following the judging process, a shortlist of finalists will be selected for the Samsung Galaxy Creator of the Year Award.
5.2The finalists will be announced through the official Content Creator Awards channels and/or at the official nominee announcement.
5.3The shortlisted finalists will proceed to a public voting period, during which members of the public may vote for their preferred creator.
5.4Public voting will close at 23:59 on 23 September 2026.
5.5Each finalist will be allocated a unique voting code.
5.6Members of the public may vote for their preferred finalist by submitting that finalist’s unique voting code via the SMS number provided by the Organiser or through the official online voting platform.
5.7Each person may submit a maximum of 50 valid votes per category, across SMS and online voting combined.
5.8Votes submitted above the permitted limit will not be counted.
5.9SMS votes will be subject to the applicable SMS network charges and/or any other charges disclosed as part of the voting process.
5.10Online voting may be subject to the terms, conditions and technical requirements of the online voting platform.
5.11Only valid votes received before the public voting closing time will be counted.
5.12The Organiser reserves the right to reject or disqualify votes that it reasonably believes to be fraudulent, automated, duplicated, manipulated or otherwise submitted in breach of these Terms and Conditions.
5.13The Organiser may use reasonable measures to identify and exclude fraudulent or otherwise invalid voting activity.
5.14The finalist who receives the highest number of valid votes at the close of the public voting period will be declared the winner, subject to verification of their eligibility and compliance with these Terms and Conditions.
5.15In the event of a tie between two or more finalists, the Organiser reserves the right to determine an appropriate and fair tie-break mechanism.
5.16The public voting result will be final, subject to the Organiser’s verification of the validity of votes and applicable law.
5.17No votes received after 23 September 2026 will be counted.

6.3The Organiser reserves the right to verify the winner’s eligibility and the validity of the votes received before confirming the winner.
6.4If the finalist with the highest number of votes is found to be ineligible, has breached these Terms and Conditions, or if a material proportion of their votes is found to be invalid, the Organiser reserves the right to withdraw the Award and determine an alternative winner in accordance with the applicable voting results.

8.3In accepting the nomination and participating in the Award, the nominee and winner agree to act in a manner that does not deliberately or knowingly seek to undermine, disparage, misrepresent or materially damage the Samsung Galaxy brand or the Samsung Galaxy sponsorship of the Award.
8.4In particular, the winner agrees that, when accepting the Award on stage or participating in the official winner presentation, they will not intentionally use the Award moment as an opportunity to promote, display, endorse or otherwise draw attention to a directly competing smartphone brand or product.
8.5This includes, without limitation, deliberately displaying or using a competing smartphone, wearing or displaying prominent branding of a directly competing smartphone brand, or making a promotional statement for a competing smartphone brand during the Award presentation or official winner photo opportunity.
8.6Nothing in these Terms and Conditions prevents a nominee or winner from expressing their genuine personal opinions or engaging in their ordinary commercial activities outside the specific Award presentation and official Award-related activities, subject always to applicable law.
8.7The Organiser reserves the right to take appropriate action where a nominee or winner materially breaches this clause, including, where legally permissible, withdrawing the Award or requiring the return of an unclaimed or undelivered prize.
9. Winner Responsibilities
9.1The winner may be required to provide proof of identity, age, residence and banking details for the purposes of prize verification and payment.
9.2The winner is responsible for ensuring that the information provided to the Organiser is accurate and up to date.
