1. Eligibility
1.1The Cars.co.za Automotive Content Award (“Award”) is open to eligible content creators who meet the general eligibility requirements of the Content Creator Awards.
1.2Entrants did not need to be automotive content creators to enter this Award. Creators from any content niche were eligible, provided that their submitted content featured a car as part of the story.
1.3Entrants must have met the eligibility requirements specified on the Content Creator Awards website during the entry period.
2. Entry Requirements
2.1Entrants were required to submit a new or an existing piece of content involving a car as part of the story. The submitted piece of content was the specific piece of content considered and judged for this Award.
2.2The submitted content did not need to have been created specifically for the Award. Entrants were permitted to submit content that had previously been published on their social media or other digital platforms, provided that it met the entry requirements.
2.3When the Award was initially launched, entrants were asked to tag Cars.co.za and use the specified competition hashtag when submitting their entry.
2.4During the entry period, the Awards Committee received feedback from creators who had wished to enter previously published content but were unable to retrospectively add the required tag and hashtag to that content.
2.5In order not to unfairly exclude otherwise eligible creators and quality content, the Awards Committee amended the entry requirements while entries were still open and removed the requirement for entrants to retrospectively tag Cars.co.za and/or use the specified hashtag.
2.6Following this amendment, an entrant was not required to have tagged Cars.co.za or used the specified hashtag on the submitted content in order for the entry to be valid.
2.7The amendment applied to entries submitted in accordance with the revised Terms and Conditions while entries remained open.
3. Judging and Nominees
3.1Entries were assessed by the Content Creator Awards judging panel in accordance with the judging criteria determined by the Awards Committee.
3.2Judges considered the submitted piece of content, rather than the creator’s overall body of work, in determining the nominees.
3.3The Awards Committee reserves the right to determine the final shortlist of nominees and its decision in this regard is final.
3.4Once the nominees have been announced, the winner of the Award will be determined by public vote, in accordance with the voting process communicated by the Content Creator Awards.
4. Winner's Prize
4.1The winner of the Cars.co.za Automotive Content Award will receive a cash prize of R10,000 (ten thousand Rand), provided by Cars.co.za.
4.2The prize is non-transferable and may not be exchanged for another prize or cash alternative, except where required by law or otherwise determined by the prize provider.
4.3The winner will be responsible for any tax or other liability that may arise from receipt of the prize.
5. Voter Prize
5.1One eligible voter who participates in the public voting process for the Cars.co.za Automotive Content Award will be selected at random to win a prize valued at R20,000 (twenty thousand Rand).
5.2The voter prize includes an experience for two at the Content Creator Awards, subject to the terms, availability and conditions communicated to the selected voter.
5.3The voter prize is separate from the winner’s prize and is not linked to the creator who ultimately wins the Cars.co.za Automotive Content Award.
5.4The selected voter may have voted for any of the nominees. They do not need to have voted for the eventual winner of the Award to qualify for or receive the voter prize.
5.5The winning voter will be selected by random draw from eligible voters. The draw will take place after the applicable voting period has closed and in accordance with the process determined by the Awards Committee.
5.6The selected voter may be required to provide valid contact and identification details in order to claim the prize. If the selected voter cannot be contacted, is ineligible, or fails to claim the prize within the period specified by the Awards Committee, an alternative voter may be selected.
6. General
6.1The Awards Committee reserves the right to disqualify any entry or vote that it reasonably believes does not comply with these Terms and Conditions or the general Content Creator Awards Terms and Conditions.
6.2The Awards Committee reserves the right to amend, cancel, suspend or alter any aspect of the Award where reasonably necessary, subject to applicable law.
6.3By entering the Award and/or participating in the public voting process, entrants and voters agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and the general Terms and Conditions of the Content Creator Awards.
